Level 2 Prerequisite: 1 year ballet experience
Continuing forward from our Junior Kinder Dance program, our Senior Kinder Dance starts the focus on specific dance styles, including: Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop or Tap. Young children develop their skills in a more formal single focus class led by an expert dance instructor. The program continues to embrace fun as part of the learning which is appropriate for the students age.
Ballet is the foundation upon which almost every style of dance (and even gymnastics!) is built. It is timeless and iconic, a dance style that builds strength, flexibility, musicality and grace. Our ballet dancers gain poise, posture, and confidence as they learn impeccable fundamentals from expert teachers. Our ballet classes are based on the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus.
EPIC is no longer operating on a continuous Monthly Subscription basis.
We have returned to our Seasonal Session approach. That is: Fall (Sept – Dec), Winter (Jan – Mar), Spring (Apr – June) & Summer (Jul – Aug) for some classes.
The price for a particular class is based on the actual number of classes in a session. You will see, depending on the day of the week, that a Session Fee may be different because of the number of holidays that fall on that day during the session.
One thing that all our loyal members appreciated, with the Monthly Subscription, was that your child could remain in a class for as long as they wanted. In other words: Once you were in, you’re in.
We want to maintain this aspect for our enrollment. We have therefore created a Priority Registration system which allows our members to book the class they are attending, for the next session, before it is open to the public. Members are sent an email indicating when the Priority Registration opens.
What does this mean? You can stay as long as you want without any stress!
At the end of each session – for the classes that employ the EPIC Level System – a report card is given to each student. If they’ve succesfully achieved all the skills for their current level, the student will also recieve an exciting collectable pin referencing the level passed. See the pin display located in the Director’s Office at EPIC for more details.
Other classes, like Dance, have a Certificate of Completion for the student at the end of the session.
Our pricing is simple. The only cost for a class is the listed seasonal Session Fee. EPIC does not have an extra membership enrollment fee.
When a student is enrolled in a class, EPIC will register them with Gymnastics Ontario, as required, and also pay for insurance coverage.
Depending when you book a class (if it’s not near the start of a session) you may see a choice to pay for the whole session or only pay a 25% deposit. If only a deposit is paid, then the member must ensure the class Session Fee is paid in full prior to the start of classes. No student may attend class until the full Session Fee is paid.
The only other possible costs for members are for incidental extras; for example, costumes for a dance recital or optional testing days.
Payment can be made by e-transfer (to [email protected]), in-person at EPIC (cash, debit, or credit card), or online (by credit card). We cannot accept payments over the phone.
EPIC has a strict no refunds policy. This means all deposit payments, or 25% of the Session Fee if the class was paid in full, is non-refundable. Once classes have begun, the total Session Fee becomes non-refundable.
If EPIC intentionally cancels a class (for example, a coach is sick or unavailable) then a credit will be put on your member account for the next session.
If a class is missed because it falls on a regular holiday no credit is given. All holidays have already been factored into the overall Session Fee for a given day of the week (that is why rates vary for different class times).
If a class is cancelled for reasons beyond EPIC’s control (for example, things such as bad weather or power failures) then no credit will be given. Unfortunately, due to strict student/teacher ratios, in most cases we cannot provide makeup classes.
